You are invited to a special screening of
HEIST, Who Stole The American Dream?
Friday, Oct. 26th, 7 PM, doors open at 6:30 PM
First Unitarian Church, SW 12th and Salmon, Portland
Admission: by donation (suggested $5 - 20), no one turned away.
Join us for a inspiring & energizing evening with a screening of HEIST, the explosive new documentary about the roots of the American economic crisis, which are traced back to a 1971 secret memo entitled Attack on American Free Enterprise System written by future Supreme Court Justice Lewis Powell.
HEIST’s step by step detail exposes the systemic implementation of Powell’s memo by both U.S. political parties over the last forty years culminating in the deregulation of industry, outsourcing of jobs and regressive taxation, which led us to the global financial crisis of 2008 and the continued dismantling of the American middle class.
Moving beyond the white noise of today’s polarizing media, HEIST provides viewers with a clear, concise and fact-based explanation of how we got into this mess, and what we need to do to restore our representative democracy.
After the screening Q &A/Discussion
Stay after the screening for Q&A/Discussion with Barbara Dudley, founder of the Oregon Working Families Party
DVDs of movie will be sold at both events for $20.00 per copy.
