I think there is an excessive and unwarranted amount of liberties being taken with positive and wishful thinking. We shouldn't ignore the ugly hand we've been dealt.
As more and more Americans come face to face with the horrific truth of where we are heading, anger will bubble up from all around us, even as we are seeing right here on this list.
What is happening to us is not at all unlike the process of grieving where one goes through the sequential phases; denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. I learned about this from the Simpson's, "One
fish, two fish, Blue fish" episode, but it's on Wikipedia too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grieving . DOH!!!!
As I see it, getting people past the denial and anger stages as quickly as possible will be the only hope of slowing down the violence that will overwhelm us in the near future. Only truth can do that, nothing else.
